SYSTEM FOR MAINTENANCE OF ARTILLERY ELEMENTS Field of the art The present invention concerns a system for the maintenance of elements of
artillery equipped with a bench with a pivoting annular support in which to fix the artillery element to be maintained, and also equipped with a tensioning tool intended to keep a portion of the artillery element to be kept compressed under tension.
State of the art Maintenance benches are known, typically provided with a support that includes coupling configurations adapted to the removable fastening of an element to be maintained, but said benches do not allow the rotation of the piece or allow a portion of said portion to be compressed. item to keep.
Brief Description of the Invention
The present invention concerns a system for the maintenance of artillery elements. It will be understood that artillery includes cannons, rocket launchers and similar weapons of great
caliber and long range as well as the ammunition of these cannons and also all kinds of rockets. Thus the artillery elements to be maintained by the proposed system can be parts of said artillery. As an example, it is proposed that the proposed system be adapted for the maintenance of parts or elements of a rocket launcher platform, for example of the Mistral model, or of parts of the rockets launched from said platform.
The proposed system includes a bench equipped with:
• a support structure;
• an annular support formed by a perimeter frame arranged around a central recess, said annular support being sized to accommodate an artillery element at least partially housed in said central recess, and said perimeter frame being provided with coupling configurations provided for removable fastening of said artillery element to said perimeter frame, said annular support being joined and articulated with respect to said support structure by

a joint that allows the rotation of the annular support with respect to the support structure around a horizontal axis for the rotation of the annular support and the artillery element attached thereto;
and because the system also includes
5 • a tensioning tool provided with two opposite connecting surfaces connected by an adjustable tensioning device, said connection surfaces being provided for the removable retention of a portion of said artillery element from two opposite ends thereof, to produce a tension of compression on said portion of the artillery element by regulating said
10 adjustable tensioning device, avoiding elastic expansion of said portion of the
artillery element. Thus, the artillery element to be maintained has coupling configurations complementary to the coupling configurations provided in the annular support, which allows the removable coupling of said artillery element to the annular support. Cited
The joint that joins the annular support to the support structure allows said annular support to rotate with respect to the support structure around the horizontal axis, allowing the artillery element to be maintained together with the annular support to rotate. This feature allows the user of the proposed bench to freely rotate the piece to be maintained, facilitating its access from different angles, also facilitating the handling of said element of
20 artillery that can have a high weight that makes manipulation impossible
easily by a single user without the help of the mentioned bench. Additionally, the artillery element to be maintained has a portion provided with two opposite ends that includes an expanding mechanism that expands in an elastic manner and is not part of the present invention. In order to perform the maintenance of the
25 artillery element, said expander mechanism must be kept under compression, thus relieving other elements and mechanisms that are part of the artillery element from tension to maintain what facilitates its manipulation by the user. Therefore, said artillery element expander mechanism must be compressed and kept under compression during maintenance. For this reason it is proposed that the system
30 also includes a tensioning tool intended to be coupled to said portion of the artillery element provided with the expander mechanism to maintain said compressed expander mechanism.

To obtain this result, the tensioning tooling has two opposite and facing connecting surfaces, each of which being of complementary shape and size with one of the ends of the portion of the artillery element to which it is attached, which allows that the ends of the portion of the artillery element be coupled and retained on said opposite connection surfaces.
The two opposite connection surfaces are mutually connected through an adjustable tensioning device that allows to regulate and modify the distance between said two opposite connection surfaces. In this way they can be coupled at the ends of the portion of the artillery element with the adjustable tensioning device being in an extended position and subsequently proceeding to reduce the distance between the two opposite connection surfaces by means of said adjustable tensioning device. Said approach of the connection surfaces produces a compression of the portion of the artillery element interposed between said two connection surfaces, which in turn compresses said expansion mechanism included in the artillery element, thus facilitating the maintenance of said artillery element. .
Thus the tensioning tooling can rotate jointly with the artillery element to which
engages when rotating the ring support. According to a further embodiment, it is proposed that the system includes a device that drives the rotation of said joint, which prevents free rotation of said joint in the absence of actuation. Said actuator mechanism will thus enable the rotation of the annular support and of the artillery element attached thereto in a controlled and regulated manner, and will also prevent that, due to an eccentricity of the center of gravity with respect to the horizontal axis or under the influence of external forces , the annular support and the artillery element attached thereto rotate or rotate in an undesired manner. In order to ensure that the drive device prevents such unwanted turning, it is proposed, by way of example, said drive device includes a connected gear and spindle, since such a mechanism allows the rotation of the gear by turning the spindle, but prevents spindle rotation by rotating the gear.
Preferably, it is contemplated that the actuator device is operated by a crank, crankshaft or flywheel, which allows manual operation by the user without relying on external sources of energy.
According to another proposed embodiment, the tensioning tool is integrated in a platform to which said tensioning tool is connected by means of an arm, said platform being provided with

coupling configurations provided for removably fixing said platform to the artillery element. Therefore, in order to simplify the placement of the tensioning tooling, it is proposed that it be connected by an arm to a platform intended to be coupled to the artillery element by means of complementary coupling configurations to parts of the artillery element to be maintained. Optionally, it is proposed that said arm includes a joint that allows modifying the angle of the tensioning tool with respect to said platform, which facilitates the positioning and fixing tasks of said tensioning tooling on the portion of the artillery element.
Additionally, it is proposed that said arm be composed of a first section protruding perpendicularly from said platform, and a second section projecting from a distal end of said first section in a direction approximately perpendicular to said first section, the tooling being tensioner attached to the distal end of said second section. In this case, it is proposed that an articulation between said first and second sections be optionally integrated in order to simplify the positioning of the tensioning tooling.
According to another proposed embodiment, the adjustable tensioning device includes a threaded shaft attached to a nut or tube with internal thread, thus the rotation of said threaded shaft, or of said nut or said tube with internal thread will produce an elongation or shortening. of said adjustable tensioning device.
Said support structure is proposed to be composed of four legs grouped into two pairs of legs facing each other, the annular support being arranged between said two pairs of legs, and the annular support being joined and articulated simultaneously with respect to said two pairs of legs.
Preferably, the two legs of the same pair of legs are connected to each other and to the annular support joint at their upper ends. These two legs could be inclined in convergent directions with their upper ends being closer to each other than their lower ends, it being understood that the lower ends are those that are in contact with the ground.
Optionally the two pairs of legs are connected to each other by a transverse element connected to an intermediate portion of the length of said legs, said transverse element being preferably a tray.
According to another additional embodiment, the coupling configurations of the annular support are through holes and / or screws with an arrangement provided to be complementary with an arrangement of holes and / or screws of the artillery element to be maintained.

It will be understood that geometric position references, such as parallel,perpendicular, tangent, etc. admit deviations of up to ± 5º from the positiontheoretical defined by said nomenclature, and that an approximate position represents ± 5ºadditional.
Other features of the invention will appear in the following detailed description of aembodiment example.
Brief description of the figuresThe above and other advantages and features will be more fully understood from
of the following detailed description of an exemplary embodiment with reference to theattached drawings, which should be taken for illustrative and non-limiting purposes, in which:Fig. 1 shows a perspective view of the proposed system according to an example of
realization, showing a tensioning tool connected with an arm to a platform thatonce it is shown anchored on an artillery element to be maintained, which is not part of thepresent invention, plotted with dashed line, said artillery element being fixedon the bench;
Fig. 2 shows a side view of the same embodiment shown in Fig. 1;Fig. 3 shows the same view as Fig. 2, the artillery element having been inclinedto hold.
Detailed description of an exemplary embodiment Fig. 1 shows, according to an exemplary non-limiting exemplary embodiment, an artillery element maintenance system consisting of a bench including support structure 10 formed by four legs 11 grouped together two in two forming two pairs of legs 12 facing each other. Each pair of legs 12 has two tubular legs of square section inclined in a convergent direction, their respective upper ends being closer than their lower ends, which gives greater stability to the whole of the bed. The upper ends of the two legs 11 of the same pair of legs 12 are connected by a cross member that supports a joint 21 arranged around a horizontal axis EH, thus leaving the two coaxial joints 21 supported on two pairs of legs 12 faced.

The two pairs of legs (12) are connected to each other by a transverse element (13) connected to an intermediate portion of the length of said legs (11), said transverse element (13) being preferably a tray.
Said joints 21 support an annular support 20 disposed between said two pairs of legs 12, allowing the rotation of said annular support 20 around said horizontal axis EH.
The annular support 20 consists of a perimeter frame disposed around a central recess and provided with coupling configurations in the form of through holes provided to be aligned with holes in the shell of the artillery element to be maintained, allowing its anchoring by means of screws interns
Coupled to the joint 21 of one of the pairs of legs 12, an actuator device 22 is provided consisting of a gear, concentric to the horizontal axis EH, and a spindle engaged to said gear. The spindle is connected to a steering wheel so that the rotation of the steering wheel causes the spindle to rotate, which in turn causes the rotation of the gear causing the controlled rotation of the annular support 20 and the artillery element attached thereto.
The proposed system also includes a platform 33 provided with coupling configurations 34 provided for coupling and fixing said platform 33 on said artillery element, said artillery element being fixed to the bench. In this case, the coupling configurations 34 consist of a pin and clamps.
From one of the faces of said platform 33, an arm 40 composed of a first section 41 formed by a square tubular profile welded at its end to said platform 33, said first section 41 being perpendicular to platform 33. A second section 42 member of said arm 40 protrudes from the first section 41 in an approximately perpendicular direction, the second section 42 being articulated with respect to the first section 41 by means of a joint 43 disposed between the first section 41 and the second section 42. In a position close to the end of the second section 42 furthest from the first section 41 has a connection surface 31 in the form of a flat surface intended to be supported on a part of the artillery element, and in a position of the second section 42 even further away from the first section 41 is connected , also by means of a joint, an adjustable tensioning device 32 holding another connecting surface 31 opposite the surface of connection 31 mentioned above provided with a projection provided to be coupled to a part of the artillery element.

The adjustable tensioning device 32 in the present example consists of a threaded shaft connected to a handle and attached to a tube with internal thread so that the rotation of the handle produces a shortening or elongation of said adjustable tensioning device producing an approach or a distance of the two opposite connecting surfaces 31 5 facing each other, compressing the portion of the artillery element
arranged in between. The assembly of the two connecting surfaces 31 and of the adjustable tensioning device 32 forms a tensioning tool 30, intended to be coupled to a portion of the artillery element provided with an elastically expanding expander mechanism. Saying
The expander mechanism is mechanically connected to other devices of the artillery element blocking them in a certain position as the expander device is expanded. For this reason, maintaining the said compressed expander mechanism by means of the tensioning tool allows different internal devices of the artillery element to be released from tension, thus facilitating its maintenance.
